There is a version of GIMP for OSX:

GIMP will work for you but you can also download Picasa web albums uploader from Google and put your pic in the online Picasa albums. You can make them public or private and you can just put links in your blog to the pics you reference if you like.
Ask your Papa about which GIMP to get. He can help.
